Comics The Explorers and Veden pelko are now available at Sarjakuva-automaatti by Sarjakuvakeskus! I was busy during the July heat spell modifying two recent comics into miniature albums, which will fit into Sarjakuva-automaatti. The Explorers is an adventure about three unlikely explorers travelling from one planet to another in a different universe. Its ”trailer” is now available at the Sarjisautomaatti. The three explorers are crocodile Magda, afghan hound Jabbas and human LinMin. Despite their apparent closeness to creatures living on the planet Earth, their own home planet is something completely different. In the trailer the three explorers come together. This trio will continue its adventures on these pages in the near future. This comic is in English. Veden pelko (Fear of water) tells about the feeling you can encounter while swimming wild – the uncanny feeling of something waiting for you in the depths. I have always had this irrational fear of swimming in waters where it’s not possible to see the bottom. Apparently this feeling is quite common, and not only caused by having watched Abyss at a young age… This comic is in Finnish. Handmade miniature albums It’s not easy to bind small booklets. I used my own system for these albums and in retrospect I should’ve done it a bit differently. But they are ready now, so that’s that! The Sarjakuva-automaatti requires also a small advertisement presenting both stories. Get your own from Sörkan ruusu! There are 10 copies of both The Explorers and Veden pelko. You can find Sarjakuva-automaatti at Sörkan ruusu restaurant (Pääskylänrinne 3, Helsinki). The albums cost 2 euros/piece, so this is an excellent opportunity to make inexpensive art purchases! 🙂 Here’s the Sarjakuva-automaatti, where you can find the albums (not yet there in this picture). 🙂 3D back in the picture The Explorers inspired me to make small Fimo figurines. Magda, Jabbas and Linmin were created on a sunny afternoon and it was really nice to once again make such small creatures. The Explorers saga is only beginning, so stay tuned! Susan
