When Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin had landed on the moon, Armstrong told NASA “The Eagle has landed”. It was a decisive moment in the history of the man. We’re now living in a world where we have to take more than one decisive step to reach the kind of enthusiasm of exploration and faith in the future that was present in the 1960´s.

What kind of role art has in the change that the world is experiencing? Art can illustrate the feelings and trends just about to come to the surface. It can cast light on subjects that the masses have not yet found. But it can also bring joy and hope to a world that is void of those feelings.

What is the eagle you would like to put in the limelight? Which topic deserves more attention? My choice is nature, biodiversity and climate change. This eagle represents all that. Bald eagles were on the brink of local extinction in the late 20th century, but it has since recovered. The same has happened with white-tailed eagle, its species-pair in the Europe.

So, for me it represents hope. If there is a will, there is a way.
